Answer:

{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{Required \: answer}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Explanation:

  • Listen. Listening to what another person has to say is a basic way to respect them.
  • Affirm. When we affirm someone, we're giving evidence that they matter.
  • Serve.
  • Be Kind.
  • Be Polite.
  • Be Thankful.

How do you respect others right while using your rights?

Be unstoppable with financing offers by HP.

By never personalizing topics, issues, beliefs, opinions, choices, observations.

Each of the above are available to all of us. Much like shoppers in a grocery store, each of us have the option to select Cheerios, Kleenex, Dawn, turkey, bread, carrots, etc.. You like carrots, I like broccoli. They like beef, she likes tomatoes.

Do we pass in the aisles of the grocery store and mock each other for the tea their chose because we chose Coke? Maybe some folks condemn others for their choices….some don’t. If I want to know what the other person likes about the cheese they chose, I can ask (and they can decide to answer or they might decline to).

Either way, I was the one to “reach out” and inquire (intrude upon the other person) and they need not respond but maybe I will learn something if they decide to respond. Of course, I could be kind in the way I ask and that certainly would encourage the other person to respond though they need not, of course.

The above examples show how interaction can and should occur…..curiosity based inquiry so we can gain a greater understanding of others.

Belligerence enters when I am defensive (my ignorance due to me having beliefs I cannot justify and am therefore not confident in). Part of this is what causes confirmation bias in that we seek out things to support our beliefs as we try to strengthen them and not allow them to become weaker).

Though some folks think they do not do this, even scientific inquiry and theorizing uses this process to seek answers (assuming patterns and using interpolating and extrapolating).

So back to the question: How do you respect others right while using your rights?

As I said, I try not to personalize topics, issues, beliefs, opinions, choices, observations. I remind myself that those are just items in the other person’s shopping cart.

So if I do that, I can discuss the items in my and their shopping cart and not become defensive because the items in my shopping cart are different than theirs.
