Speech on Swami Vivekananda

Education

Young Naren studied in the Metropolitan Institution at Calcutta and after passing the examination. He graduated from an English college in Calcutta and passed his B.A. examination, and further visited to study law. But after his father’s death, his family’s financial position did not allow him to prosecute further study.

He was an excellent singer. One day Ramakrishna Paramahamsa happened to hear him singing a devotional song. He asked the young man to see him at the Kali temple. Naren was very keen to see God face to face. He asked many religious saints about his desire, but none could satisfy him.

Ramakrishna Paramahamsa said to Naren that as one can see him, he can also see god in the same form. However, Naren was not convinced by his words. He wanted the saint to demonstrate it to him. As time passed, Naren had that wonderful heavenly experience in his life. He became the most dedicated disciple of the saint. His Guru taught him the most important lesson of his life ie We can experience God by serving humanity.
