it is deficient in phosphorus,nitrogen,and humus.
It is mainly found in Deccan Trap Region.
It is formed as a result of denudation of lava flow rocks

2 black soil in india is rich in metals such as iron,magnesium and aluminum .
3 however it is deficient in nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and humus.
4 black soil is of red colour mainly due to its iron oxide content .
