Here,
ABCD is the square. Suppose we have to find the equivalent resistance between adjacent points A and B.
In the above figure,
The resistances on sides BC, CD and DA are in series.
Equivalent resistance of BC, CD and DA is = 2 + 2 + 2 = 6 Ω
This 6 Ω is in parallel with AB. So, the equivalent resistance of the circuit is
= (6)(2)/(6+2)
= 12/8
= 1.5 Ω
