John spends 20% of the sum he had and then receives 30% of the am with him from his father. What percentage of the original amount is finally left with both of them?

Let swati has 100 rs and john has 100 rs with them  

then swati gets 30% of money left with her from her father .i,e.,  

30% of 100=30rs  

so swati left with 100+30 rs=130 rs  

and john with 100 rs

before they both have 200 rs combinedly  

and now they both have 230 rs  

then what percentage of the original amount is finally left with both of them is  

230 is what % of 200  

230=x/100% * 200

x=230*100/200

x=115%  

so 15% more than before
