Hi there!
Here's the answer:
Let Amount of Bill be x
First let us find equivalent amount of two successive discounts of 20% and 20% on Bill amount.
After 20% discount,
Bill Amount = 100(1-(20/100))
= 100 (80/100)
= 80₹
Again 20% Discount,
Bill Amount= 80(1-(20/100))
=80(80/100)
= 64₹
Total Amount of Discount= 100₹ - 64₹
= 36₹
Now,
Discount of 35% on Bill Amount
=> 100(1-(35/100))
= 100(65/100)
= 65₹
Given,
Difference between a discount of 35% and two successive discounts of 20% and 20% is 22₹
=> 36₹ - 35₹ = 22₹
difference is 1₹
So
Difference___ Bill Amount
1₹ ___________ 100₹
22₹__________ ?(Say x)
1×x = 2200
x= 2200₹
•°• Amount of bill= ₹2200
:)
Hope it helps
