Solution

Given :-

  • The two legs of a right triangle are equal and the square of its hypotenuse is 50.

To Find :-

  • The length of each leg.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let the measure of one leg be x

So,

By using pythagorean theorem

H² = B² + P²

Putting the respective value,

50 = x² + x²

50 = 2x²

x² = 50/2

x² = 25

25 = x²

x = 5

Hence,

Measures of other two legs = 5 .

Question ::-

The two legs of a right triangle are equal and the square of its hypotenuse is 50. Find the length of each leg ?

Given ::-

  • Triangle is a right triangled.

  • Two sides of right triangle are equal.

  • Square of its hypotenuse is 50 cm.

To find ::-

  • Find the Length of each leg ?

Formula used ::-

{H}^{2} = {B}^{2} + {P}^{2}

Solution ::-

Let the measure of each leg be g.

So , by Pythagoras therom

{H}^{2} = {B}^{2} + {P}^{2}

 ⟼ 50 = {g}^{2} + {g}^{2}

 ⟼ 50 = {2g}^{2}

 ⟼ {g}^{2} =  \dfrac{50}{2}

 ⟼ {g}^{2} = 25

 ⟼ g = 5.

Therefore , Length of each leg is 5 cm
