4. the width of a rectangle is 6 cm less than the length. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 48 cm, what is the length of the rectangle in centimetres?

b=x-6

perimeter=2 (l+b)

48=2 (x+x-6)

48/2=2x-6

24=2x-6

24+6=2x

30=2x

30/2=x

15=×

therefore l=x=15cm

b=x-6=15-6=11cm
