Consider for glass A ,

milk is 1/3 of total capacity , hence milk = x/3

water = x - x/3 = 2x/3

Consider for glass B ,

water = x - x/4 = 3x/4

Now if contents of two glasses are mixed in a pot then

Total milk in pot = x/3 + x/4 = 7x/12

Total water in pot = 2x/3 + 3x/4 = 17x/12

Ratio of milk to water in the pot = ( 7x/12 ) / ( 17x/12 )

= 7 : 17
