When a liquid is heated to a certain temperature its molecules gain kinetic energy and vibrates more faster.
When the temperature or heat supplied is increases the kinetic energy also increases a time come when the molecules of liquid overcomes the force of attraction and gets converted in to gasesous state.
Hence, when liquid is heated following phenomenon takes place.
- The kinetic energy of liquid molecules get increases.
- The intermolecular force get decreases.
- The intetmolecular distance between their molecules increases.
- The liquid get expanded.
- All above phenomenon lead to conversion of liquid in to gaseous state when the molecules of liquid attain maximum kinetic energy to overcome the force of attraction.
Hence, when liquid is heated it get expanded and change in to gases.
