Answer:  Nationalism. Nationalism began to spread across europe after the french revolution of 1789 as the french under Napoleon succeeded in conquering european nations far beyond the capability from the ancient régime. Common greek people were influenced by this idea and wanted their own independant government.

Freedom. The ottomans began to oppress the greek people after the fall of Constantinople and they considered themselves as the new heir to the old byzantine empire. The greeks were a minority in the ottoman empire but they held many good positions in many sectors and some of them are rich due to their high education. This made the turks jealous and they harrassed greeks to submission by harsh penalties including death when the greeks rebelled.

Christianity. The greeks once had a priviledge from the byzantine empire due to their heritage from ancient greece in which the romans later learned a lot from them. Orthodox christianity became the legacy of the greeks and when the byzantine empire was conquered by the turks, the greeks were reduced to a second class citizens and sometimes forced to covert to islam so they can have a better life which could be exempted from paying non-muslim tax.

Balance of power. Russia became centralized and expanded their empire to eastern europe after many successful wars which threatened powers of Austria and Britain. The russians considered themselves as the successor of the byzantines due to their orthodoxy heritage and wanted to free Constantinople from thr turks. This would allow Russia to widen their navy in the mediterranean sea in which british had dominated. Greece became the battleground for european diplomacy as Russia, Britain and France negotiated to help the greeks but remained out from russian influence.
