Answer:

We should protect the wildlife because of the following reasons,

1) For maintaining a healthy ecological balance on this earth

2) Animals, plants and marine species are as important as humans.

3) Each organism on this earth has a unique place in food chain that helps contribute to the ecosystem in its own special way.

4) Natural habitats of animals and plants are destroyed for land development and agriculture by humans.

5) Poaching and hunting of animals for fur, jewellery, meat and leather are other important factors contributing to the extinction of wildlife.

6) Animals that grow or live in the wild without any human interference are known as wildlife.

7) Wildlife helps keep the food chain in place and thereby maintain ecological stability.

8) It also helps maintain the stability of the various natural processes.

9) Under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 various provisions for protecting habitats of wildlife are made by constructing national parks and sanctuaries.

10) These parks and sanctuaries ensure the protection and maintenance of endangered species.
