Function of hormones

Tgyroxine-Thyroxine is the main hormone secreted into the bloodstream by the thyroid gland. It plays vital roles in digestion, heart and muscle function, brain development and maintenance of bones.

Insulin -Insulin is an anabolic hormone that promotes glucose uptake, glycogenesis, lipogenesis, and protein synthesis of skeletal muscle and fat tissue through the tyrosine kinase receptor pathway.

Glucagon-Glucagon's role in the body is to prevent blood glucose levels dropping too low. To do this, it acts on the liver in several ways: It stimulates the conversion of stored glycogen (stored in the liver) to glucose, which can be released into the bloodstream. This process is called glycogenolysis.

vasopressin-Antidiuretic hormone (ADH), also known as vasopressin, is a small peptide hormone which regulates the body's retention of water. It is one of only two hormones secreted by the posterior pituitary gland.
