Substitute (1) in equation (2), we get

=> 2x + 3(8-12x) = -10

=> 2x+24-36x= -10

=> -34x = -10-24

=> -34x = -34

=> x = (-34)/(-34)

=> x= 1

Substitute x = 1 , in equation (1),

we get

y = 8 - 12×1

=> y = 8-12

=> y = -4
