4 years ago the boy's age was x. so if want the age of the boy before 2 years u have to add w with age of the boy with that of his age before 4 years.

then his age before 2 years would have been x+2 . so x-2 is false

Age of boy after 4 years = x + 4

Age of boy before 2 years = x + 4 - 2

                                            = x + 2

So the statement is not correct ( as justified above).
