Answer:

Let the number be x .

Then, = \frac{60x}{100} - 40 = 50

          = \frac{6x}{10} = 50 + 40

          = \frac{6x}{10} = 90

          = x = \frac{10}{6} * 90

          = x = 150

solution:

150

To find :

find the number?

Given:

40 is subtracted from 60% of a number the result is 50.

so,

  \implies \sf\frac{60x}{100} - 40 = 50

  \implies \sf\frac{60x}{100} = </u><u>9</u><u>0

  \implies \sf</u><u> </u><u>60x = </u><u>9</u><u>0</u><u>×</u><u>1</u><u>0</u><u>0</u><u>

 \implies \s</u><u>f</u><u> </u><u>x</u><u> = </u><u>\</u><u>f</u><u>r</u><u>a</u><u>c</u><u>{</u><u>9</u><u>0</u><u>×</u><u>1</u><u>0</u><u>0</u><u>}</u><u>{</u><u>6</u><u>0</u><u>}</u><u>

 \implies \sf \: x =   \cancel\frac {9000} {60}

 \implies \sf \: x = 150

Therefore,

40 is subracted from 60% of a number the result is 50.the number is 150.
