it is because India has varied climate condition. Indian monsoons are called as gambling with the Indian agriculture, means it is Indian monsoons are uncertain, seasonal and unevenly distributed hence there is a different types of climatic condition in India few parts of India like completely flooded area few parts of India's are like drought area
also North India has perennial rivers that is which flows through out the year and South Indian has non perennial rivers that is also and other cause for the flood and drought
