The Kakinada session of the Indian National Congress was held at Kakinada, in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The session was held for four days from 26 – 29 December, 1924 and presided over by Maulana Mohammad Ali, an Indian Muslim leader, scholar and poet.

It was attended by all prominent Congress leaders, except for Mahatma Gandhi, who was in Yerwada Prison, Pune at that time.

Several decisions taken at this session, formed the basis for India’s move towards complete freedom from the British.
