Answer: \frac{51}{49}

Given

  • 400L mixture of water and milk with ratio 3:2
  • 60L mixture is replaced by water

To Find

  • New ratio of milk and water

Step-by-step explanation:

in 400L:-

  • Amount of milk=240L

  • Amount of water=160L

Now 60L of mixture is separated

  • Left amount of milk=204L
  • left amount of water=136L

Now 60L water is added

  • new amount of milk=204( no change as water is added
  • new amount of water =196L

New ratio

 \frac{204}{196}  =  \frac{51}{49}

51:49

Additional information

  • method to find of amount from ratio just add the given ration and divide the part by added part than multiply with whole amount
  • for example to find amount of x in 60L solution of x and y combining in ration x:y
  • add \: ratios \:  = x + y
  • now divide x by x+y. than multiply with 60

\: amout \: of \: x \: is =  \frac{x}{x + y}  \times 60
