43% of cakes in a confectionery shop are chocolate cakes. The rest of the are cheese cakes and vanilla cakes. The ratio of the number of cheesecakes to the number of vanilla cakes is 1 : 2. There are 72 more chocolate cakes than chese cakes. How many cakes are there altogether?

According to the Question:

cheesecakes : vanilla

1:2

Let the no. of cheesecakes = x

no. of vanilla cakes= 2x

There are 72 more chocolate cakes than cheese cakes. So

cheesecakes + 72= chocolate cakes

x + 72 = chocolate cakes

x + 72= 43%
