Explanation:

If the charges are +ve and placed around the electron such that it make a regular hexagon then the net attractive force on the electron from the above side will be equal to the force exerted on it from the down side and THUS that of from left side would equal to from right side hence they would cancel each other.

In case if the six charges are -ve then they would repell the electron and would exert a force of repultion bit that would also be cancelled from the other side.
