Percentage of girls = 44% (Given)

Percentage of boys = 100 - 44 = 56%

.

Percentage difference = 56 - 44 = 12%

Difference in girls and boys = 6 (Given)

.

12% = 6

1% = 6 ÷ 12 = 0.5

100% = 0.5 x 100 = 50

.

Answer: There are 50 students in the class.
