Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

The perimeter of a rectangle is 30 m and the ratio between length and breadth is 7:3.

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Area of Rectangle

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Let the ratio of length and breadth be 7x : 3x

We know that,

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(l + b)

According to Question :-

2( l + b) = 30

2(7x + 3x) = 30

2(10x) = 30

10x = 30/2

10x = 15

x = 15/10

x = 1.5

Then,

  • Length = 7x = 7×1.5 = 10.5m
  • Breadth = 3x = 3×1.5 = 4.5

Now,

We know that,

Area of Rectangle = length × breadth

l × b

10.5 × 4.5

47.25

Hence,

  • Area of Rectangle = 47.25m²

Therefore,

  • Option(d) 47.25m² is correct

Correct Question :

The perimeter of a rectangle is 30 m and the

ratio between length and breadth is 7:3. Find

the area of the rectangle,

(a) 46.55 m2

(C) 45.25 m2

(b) 48.50 m2

(d) 47.25 m2

Solution :

Given ratio of length :Breadth of rectangle = 7:3

Then, let the length of rectangle be 7x and the breadth be 3x.

Now, according to the question

Perimeter of rectangle = 2×(l + b)

30 = 2×(7x + 3x)

30 = 2×10x

30 = 20x

3/2 = x

1.5 = x

Now,

Length of rectangle = 7x = 7×1.5 = 10.5 m

Breadth of rectangle = 3x = 3×1.5 = 4.5 m

Therefore,

Area of the rectangle = l × b

= 10.5 × 4.5 m²

= 47.25 m².

Hence, option (d) 47.25 m² is the correct option.
