In a 20 litre vessel initially 1 - 1 mole CO,H,O,
CO, is present, then for the equilibrium of
CO + H2O = CO, +H, following is true:-
(1) H,, more then 1 mole
(2) CO, H,O, H, less then 1 mole
oth more than 1 mole
(4) All of these

Answer:

Option (2)

Explanation:

The question is:

In a 20 litre vessel initially 1 -1 mole each of CO H₂O and CO₂ is present, then for the equilibrium of CO + H₂O → CO₂ + H₂ following is true:

(1) H₂, more then 1 mole

(2) CO, H₂O, H₂ less then 1 mole

(3) CO₂ & H₂O both more than 1 mole

(4) All of these

Solution:

As per the chemical reaction, 1 mole of of CO and 1 mole of H₂O gives 1 mole of CO₂ and 1 mole of H₂.

Initially 1 mole each of CO H₂O and CO₂ is there. 1 mole of CO will combine with 1 mole of H₂O to give out 1 mole each of CO₂ and H₂.  When the reaction goes backwards, the no. of moles of H₂ will be less than 1 and that of CO and H₂O will also be less than 1 while the moles of CO₂ will always be greater than 1.

Hence correct option is option (B)

Hope this helps.

Answer: B

Explanation:option B is correct answer

because as the reaction will move forward, CO and H20 , will be consumed.. to form CO2 and H2.

but since CO2 has initially 1 mole.. so moles of CO2 at equilibrium will be greater than 1..

but for H2.. moles will be lesser than 1

and same for the reactant also.. moles ,< 1
