(a)they are non reactive,ductile, malleable moreover they are lustrous

(b)they all react very vigorously with air..so to prevent accidental fires they are stored under kerosene oil

(c)it is easier to extract metal from its oxide rather than sulphide or carbonate..so they are first converted into oxides prior to reduction

in sulphide ore we do roasting

in carbonate ore we do calcination
