Factorising Trinomial by Splitting the Middle term

48 + 22x - x²

In the given trinomial , we have to split the middle term i.e. 22x in a such a way that the -

Product = 48 × x² = 48x²

Sum = 22x

=> 48 + 24x - 2x - x²

=> 24 ( 2 + x ) - x ( 2 + x )

=> ( 2 + x ) ( 24 - x ). ANS

$-x^2 + (24-2)x + 48$
