You have to find the Highest Common Factor of the numbers 16, 24, and 32

To find the highest common factor, divide each number by the lowest prime number you can until you can’t divide each number by the same number

So

16 / 2= 8, 24 / 2 = 12, 32 / 2 = 16

So 2 is a factor

Then,

8 / 2 = 4, 12 / 2 = 6, 32 / 2 = 8

So another 2 is a factor

Then,

4 / 2 = 2, 6 / 2 = 3, 32 / 2 = 4

So another 2 is factor

Now, you can’t divide 2, 3 and 4 by the same number (other than 1) to end up with whole numbers, so we’ve found the common prime factors as 2, 2 and 2.

To find the Highest Common Factor, you just multiply all the common prime factors together, 2 x 2 x 2 = 8

So, that’s the answer.
