I have solved the equations by
Elimination method .

49x - 57y = 172........(1)
57x - 49y = 252........(2)

Adding (1) & (2)
106x - 106y = 424

x - y = 4 ........(3)
Subtracting (1) from (2)
8x + 8y = 80

x + y = 10......(4)
x - y = 4 ......(3)

2x = 14
x = 7

(4) => y = 3.

Solution: x = 7
y = 3

Given that,

Two equations i.e.

49x-57y=172

57x-49y=252

To find,

The values of x and y.

Solution,

We can solve the given equations using elimination method.

49x-57y=172 ......(1)

57x-49y=252  ......(2)

Adding equation (1) and (2) we get :

49x-57y+57x-49y =172+252

106x - 106y = 424\\\\x-y=4\ .....(3)

Subtracting equation (1) and (2) we get :

49x-57y-57x+49y =172-252

8x + 8y = 80\\\\x+y=10\ .......(4)

Now solving equation (3) and (4) we get :

2x = 14

x = 7

Put x = 7 in equation (3) such that,

y = x -4

y = 7-4

y = 3

So, the values of x and y are 7 and 3 respectively.
