Answer:

a/b=3/7

It's correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the normal first and foremost rule of ratio and proportion i have solved it.

i.e. Product of extremes = product of means.

(4a/b-1/2):(3a/b+1)=17:32

=>32(4a/b-1/2)=17(3a/b+1)                    (using the above formula)

=>32((8a-b)/2b)=17((3a+b)/b)

=>16((8a-b)/b)=17((3a+b)/b)                   (Taking Out common 1/2)

=>128a-16b/b=51a+17b/b                      (Multiplying coefficient of each side)

=>128a-16b=51a+17b

=>128a-51a-16b-17b=0

=>77a-33b=0

=>11(7a-3b)=0                               (taking out common)

=>7a=3b

=>a=3b/7

=>a/b=3/7

Hence, Proved.
