Good Morning!!!
Adding both the equations... we get
5a + 5b = 15
=>. a + b = = 3
a = = b - 3
Now, put value of a in equation 2nd we get
a = 5 and b = -2
Have a great future ahead...

4a + b = 18 .... (1)
a+ 4b = -3 .......(2)
from equation (1)
b = 18 - 4a
substitude to equation (2)
a+4(18-4a) = -3
a + 72 - 16a = - 3
-15a + 72 = -3
-15a = -75
a = 75/ 15
a = 5
As b = 18 - 4a
b = 18 - 20
b = - 2
a+ 4b = -3 .......(2)
from equation (1)
b = 18 - 4a
substitude to equation (2)
a+4(18-4a) = -3
a + 72 - 16a = - 3
-15a + 72 = -3
-15a = -75
a = 75/ 15
a = 5
As b = 18 - 4a
b = 18 - 20
b = - 2
