Answer:

2 litrer

Explanation:

V1 = 4 litre. V2 = ?

T1 = 300k (27+273). T2 = 150k

Therefore we know that according to the Charles law

V1/T1= V2/T2

So 4/300 = V2/150

V2=4x300/150

=2 litre( answer )

Given :

Initial Volume (V₁) = 4 L

T₁ = 27°C = (273 + 27) = 300 K

T₂ = 150 K

To Find :

Volume when the temperature is lowered to 150 K

Solution :

At constant Pressure, the volume of a given mass of a gas is directly proportional to the temperature.

     V  ∝ T

     V  = KT                        (where, K = constant)

     \frac{V}{T}  = K = constant

So,        \frac{V_1}{T_1}   =  \frac{V_2}{T_2}

⇒          \frac{4}{300}  =  \frac{V_2}{150}

⇒          V₂  =  2 L

Therefore, the volume when the temperature is lowered to 150 K is 2 L.
