HI.

QUESTION ➡ 4x² + 4 = 40, xy = 6

Find 2x + y = ❓

SOLUTION ==>

GIVEN : 4x² + 4 = 40 ............[1]

and,

xy = 6......................................[2]

NOW,

LET US CONSIDER,

EQ[1]

WE HAVE,

4x² + 4 = 40

==> 4x² = 36

==> x² = 9

==> x = 3

NOW,

SUBSTITUTING THE VALUE OF x IN THE [2] WE HAVE,

==> xy = 6

==> (3)y = 6

==> y = 2

Hence,

x = 3 and y = 2

Therefore,

substituting the values of x and y in 2x + y

we have,

==> 2(3) + (2) = 6 + 2

==> 8

IS THE REQUIRED VALUE OF (2x + y).
