the number of pants purchased. Also the number of skirts is four less than three times the

1st case

2x-y-2=0____1

-y-2=-2x

-y=-2x+2

y=2x-2____2

2nd case

3x-4=y

3x-y-4=0

putting the value of equation 2

3x-(2x-2)-4=0

3x-2x+2-4=0

x-2=0

x=2

from equation 2

y=2x-2

=2×2-2

=4-2

=2

so there are 2 pants and 2 skirts
