4x - 3y = 10 \\ 4x  = 10 + 3y \\ x =  \frac{10 + 3y}{4}

substituting the value of x in another equation

2x + 4y = 5 \\ 2 \times ( \frac{10  +  3y}{4} ) + 4y = 5 \\  \frac{10 + 3y}{2}  + 4y = 5 \\  \frac{10 + 3y + 8y}{2}  = 5 \\ 10 + 11y = 10 \\ 11y = 10 - 10 \\  11y = 0\\ y = 0

and x will be

2x + 4y = 5 \\ 2x   + 4 \times 0  = 5 \\ 2x = 5 \\ x =  \frac{5}{2}
