Given :

4 x + 6 > 8 x - 2

= > 4 x + 6 - 8 x + 2 > 0

= > 4 x - 8 x + 6 + 2 > 0

= > - 4 x + 8 > 0

= > - 4 ( x - 2 ) > 0

Dividing both sides by - 4 we get :

= > ( x - 2 ) < 0

Note that the sign will change when the equation is divided by a negative number :

= > x - 2 < 0

= > x < 0 + 2

= > x < 2

Hence x < 2

Solution set :

{ x ∈ R : x < 2 }

x = { 1 , 0 , - 1 , ............... }
