The value of x is 11/400 and the value of y is 1/400.

Given:

4x+6y= 1/8

3x+ 7y= 1/10

To Find:

to find value of x and y.

Solution:

let  4x+6y= 1/8  _(1)

3x+7y= 1/10       _(2)

Multiplying and dividing equation(1) by 8

8(4x+6y)= 8/8

32x+ 48y= 1     _(3)

Multiplying and dividing equation (2) by 10

10(3x+7y)= 10/10

30x+ 70y= 1    _(4)

Taking equation (1) and finding the value of x from it

32x= 1- 48y

⇒ x= (1-48y)/32   _(5)

Putting this value of x in equation (4)

[30(1-48y)]/32 + 70y= 1

Taking LCM and 32 to RHS

⇒ 30(1-48y)+ 2240y= 32

30- 1440y+ 2240y= 32

Keeping y one side of equation and taking other terms to RHS

2240y- 1440y= 32-30

800y= 2

y= 2/800

y= 1/400

Putting value of y in equation _(5)

x= [1- 48(1/400)]/32

x= [400-48]/400×32

x= 352/400×32

We know 352/32=11

So, x= 11/400

Hence, the value of x is 11/400 and the value of y is 1/400.
