Answer:

4x*2x-13=7/2*3/2x

8x-52=21/4x

4x(8x-52) =21

Question :

4x + 7/2 = 3/2x - 13

To find :

The value of x

Solution :

 \sf  \small \dashrightarrow4x +  \frac{7}{2}  =  \frac{3}{2}x - 13

Now we have to arrange on both the sides we need to take the variables on the L.H.S. and the numbers on the opposite side

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow4x -  \frac{3}{2}  x =  - 13 -  \frac{7}{2}

Now we have to do the L.C.M. on both the sides

 \sf  \small \dashrightarrow\frac{4x \times 2}{1 \times 2}  -  \frac{3}{2} x =  \frac{ - 13 \times 2}{1 \times 2}  -  \frac{7}{2}

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow  \frac{8x}{2}  -  \frac{3x}{2}  =  \frac{ - 26}{2}  -  \frac{7}{2}

Now as the denominators are common so we need to just simplify the numerator only

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow \frac{8x - 3x}{2}  =  \frac{ - 26 - 7}{2}

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow \frac{5x}{2}  =   - \frac{33}{2}

Now we need to apply cross multiplication

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow5x \times 2 =  - 33 \times 2

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow10x =  - 66

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow x =  -  \frac{66}{10}

\sf  \small \dashrightarrow x =  - 6.6

So the answer is -6.6

More about cross multiplication :

  • When two fractions are multiplied by each other is termed as cross-multiplication method.

  • In the cross-multiplication method, the numerator of the first fraction value is multiplied by the denominator of the second fraction.

  • It can be termed as a cross-multiplication method or a cross multiply.
