4x + y = 14 \:  \:  \:  \: i)

5x + 6y = 27 \:  \:  \:  \: ii)

multply 5 in i) equation and in ii) by 4.

20x + 5y = 70

20x + 24y = 108

by solving it

5y - 24y = 70 - 108

 - 19y =  - 38

y = 2

by putting the valu of y=2 in equation i)

4x + y = 14

4x + 2 = 14

4x = 12

x = 3

Therefore

(x = 3 \: and \: y = 2)
