Answer:

5.3 into 10 to the power 11 electrons are flowing through the filament of bulb for 2 minutes, the current will be 7.1\times 10^{-10} A

Explanation:

  • Let I be the current flowing through an electrical circuit t be the time of flow and Q be the total charge.

        We have the expression for the total charge as,

        Q = It

        That is,

        I = \frac{Q}{t}       ...(1)

        Then we have another expression for Q as,

         Q = ne     ...(2)

        Where n is the number of electrons and e is the charge of one electron.

        We can use these equations for solving the given question.

  • From the question,

       Number of electrons n =5.3\times 10^{11}

       Time, t = 2min = 2\times 60  = 120s

       Charge on an electron, e = 1.6\times 10^{-10} C

        Then,

        Substituting the given values into equation (2)

        Q = 5.3\times 10^{11} \times 1.6\times10 ^{-19}=8.48\times 10^{-8}C

        Now, Using equation(1),

        I = \frac{8.48\times10^{-8}}{120} = 7.1\times10^{-10} A
