Social Media Awareness
Techno India College of Pune recently organised an awareness program on social media and its impact on society. The students and teachers equally participated to host the event. The program involved a brief discussion on what social media is and its varied impacts on different people. This was followed by case studies that showed both positive and negative outcomes of social media. As a guest lecturer, they invited the famous psychologist Arun Joshi who spoke about some of his bizarre cases that involved social media influence. People are being heavily dominated by this phenomenon due to the urge to constantly engage with people and to portray their lifestyle in a positive light. He emphasized how important it is to understand what our true priorities are and thereafter choose how to go about things. Social media should be used by an individual instead of it being the other way round.
