Answer:

______________

x = -1 and y = 1

Explanation:

___________________

Given that :

5x + 2y = -3 ... (1)

x + 5y = 4 .......(2)

By Elimination Method

_________________________

On Multiplying by 1 in equation (1) and by 5 in equation (2) :

=> 5x + 2y = -3 .... (3)

=> 5x + 25y = 20...(4)

On subtracting :

=> -23y = -23

=> y = 1

On putting the value of y in equation (1):

5x + 2×1 = -3

=> 5x = -3 - 2

=> 5x = -5

=> x = -1

Required value of : x = -1 and y = 1
