Hey there !

Let the fraction be x,

 \frac{5}{6} x \frac{1}{2}

x =   \frac{1}{2}   -  \frac{5}{6}

x =    \frac{1*3}{2*3} -  \frac{5}{6}

x \frac{3-5}{6}

x\frac{-2}{6}

x- \frac{1}{3}

When we find an equation x comes left side and the application get changed

For ex. = If Addition is there Subtraction will be there

            = x + 4 = 7 ; = x = 7 - 4 ; = x = 3

If multiplication then division

Hope you understood !

Answer:

The correct answer is  $x=-\frac{1}{3}$.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

\frac{5}{6} +......... = \frac{1}{2}

To find in the blank.

Consider the value as x, then

$\frac{5}{6}+x=\frac{1}{2}$

Subtracting, \frac{5}{6} from both sides of the equation.

$x=\frac{1}{2}-\frac{5}{6}$

Equating,

$x=\frac{1 * 3}{2 * 3}-\frac{5}{6}$

$x=\frac{3-5}{6}$

$x=\frac{-2}{6}$

$x=-\frac{1}{3}$

Then we get,

$\frac{5}{6}+\frac{-1}{3} =\frac{1}{2}$
