Firoz Shah Tughlaq Tomb is a well-designed 15-foot long tomb from Tughlaq Dynasty and is made during the reign of Firoz Shah Tughlaq. The monument is situated within the Hauz Khas Village which is an admired spot among visitors in Delhi as it seizes various historical monuments. The design of the tomb is simple yet attractive which shows the Tughlaq architectural uniqueness. This tomb is built with ashlar walls which are further completed with plaster lime and the tomb area also includes rounded entrances and upright crenellated barriers. The tomb is 29 feet long from within and the inner walls are cemented with grey coloured stone blocks.
The interior and ceiling of the arch are decorated with different coloured bands that overlie each other. The stoops of the tomb are furthermore redecorated with works of plaster collectively with chiselled scripts. Designs of the tomb are intricately engraved and are painted with beautiful colours like turquoise, green and red. The tomb is situated in the centre of the madrasa made by Firoz Shah Tughlaq. The tomb holds four unknown graves, out of which three are made up of white marble and one is made up of plaster and remains. The central grave has been acknowledged to be Firoz Shah’s and further two marble one’s are believed to be of his son and grandson.
