Answer: p =(-8)/17

Step-by-step explanation:

5(7p+5/3) - 23/3 =13(4p - (-2/3))

35p + 25/3 - 23/3 = 52p - (-26/3)

35p + 2/3 =52p + 26/3

now taking the lcm for 35p and 2/3 which is 3

(105p + 2)/3 = 52p + 26/3

now taking the lcm for 52p and 26/3 which is 3

(105p + 2)/3 = (156p + 26)/3

so i am now gonna cancel the two 3's on each side

now i am going to transpose the numbers on one side and the p's on one side.

2 - 26 = 156p - 105p

-24 = 51p

p = (-24)/51

when simplyfying this with 3 you get

(-8)/17
