3. From here, I total = 0.5 ampere
As u know in series combination, this current is divided in ratio of the resistances. So, now, we have to apply some basic maths here.
Total Current= 0.5A
Ratios of resistances= 3:4:5:12
So, Current flowing through a particular resistance
= That resistance/sum of ratios × Total current. ( This is basic maths to find the value of one ratio if other are in proportion)
So, current through 12 ohm resistor = 12/24 ×0.5A
=0.5×0.5
=0.25A.
