5. A number is divided into two parts, such that one part is 10 more than the
other. If the two parts are in the ratio 5:3, find the number and the two parts.

Let the two parts be 5x and 3x.

According to the question, the difference between two parts is 10

i.e., 5x - 3x = 10

or, 2x = 10

or, x = 10/2 = 5

Therefore the two parts are 25 (5*5) and 15 (3*5)

And the number is 35 (25+15)
