5. A standing wave in a string 35 cm long has a total
of six nodes, (including those at the ends). Hend
wavelength of the standing wave is:

◆ Explaination -

For standing wave on the string, distance between two nodes is half the wavelength.

For formation of 6 nodes, length of string is given by -

l = (6-1) × λ/2

35 = 5λ/2

λ = 35 × 2 / 5

λ = 7 cm

Therefore, wavelength of standing wave should be 7 cm.
