Explanation:

v = 0m/s

u = 5m/s

a = - 10m/s² (for retardation)

h = ?

v² - u² = 2as

(0)² - (5)² = 2 × (-10) × s

- 25 = - 20s

20s = 25

4s = 5

s = 5/4

s = 1.25m

b)

u = 5m/s

v = 0m/s

a = - 10m/s²

t = ?

v - u = at

0 - 5 = (-10)t

-5 = -10t

10t = 5

2t = 1

t = 1/2

t = 0.5sec
