Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Maths

A rectangular swimming pool 8m long, 4m wide and 2m deep is to be tiled. If each tile is 50 cm × 50 cm, how many tiles will be required.

Answer

Length of swimming pool l=8m

Breadth of swimming pool b=4m

Height of swimming pool h=2m

The total surface area of pool= Lateral surface area + Area of base

                                                =2h(l+b)+(l×b)

                                                =2×2(8+4)+(8×4)

                                               =48+32=80

Side of square tile a=50cm=0.5m

Area of 1 tile =a×a=0.5×0.5=0.25m

2

Number of tiles =

area of tile

area of pool

                          =

0.25

750

Number of tiles =3000

Therefore 3000 tiles are required.
