Average velocity= Displacement / time

Distance cover in first 30 minutes is= 54*1/2 =27 km (30min= 1/2 hr)

Distance cover in next 40 minutes is=54*40/60 = 36 km

- See the above diagram,

displacement of the object in 70 minutes or 7/6 he is-

From point I to point F = √(27)2+(36)2

=√2045

So displacement= 45 km

And average velocity= 45/(7/6) = 38.79 km/hr
